Highland Youth Theatre Mentors

Trained with the Vera Hildreth School of Dance
The Barbara Speake Stage School.
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
The British Ballet Organization.
The Dance Centre (London).

After completing her training Shayne worked professionally in musicals, pantomime, touring plays, voice over work for radio and educational broadcasting, T.V. and cabaret.

Starting work with Stageworld in 1982 teaching ballet, tap modern and acrobatic styles of dance. She then went on to create the Tick Tock Theatre Company and The Shayne Guinness Stage School running the school for sixteen years until meeting her husband Matthew and moving to Scotland.

Since then a new “Scottish” Shayne Guinness Stage School emerged in Moray until a devastating house fire in 2005 which destroyed all the costumes and equipment for the shows. Taking a break from teaching to rebuild the house and costume collection until 2009. Having moved to Inverness due to policeman husband Matthews` posting Shayne has seen the need to branch out away from Inverness ensuring the children of the Highlands get the chance to experience the thrill and excitement of performing live on stage.

We are proud to have Gillian on board an ex-pupil who completed her BA (Hons) Community Arts. (Specialising in drama and music) from Strathclyde University in 2012.
She brings a fresh and enthuiastic style and the children have taken her to their hearts.
Gillian has been with us for three years and is a real asset to Highland Youth Theatre.
She  has started to teach singing on a Saturday and this has been received with great delight by the pupils.
Mainly Gillian teaches in the Moray area and joins us on Saturdays.
